Wait on the Lord

Wait on the Lord

“Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.” Psalm 27:14.

Wait is an action that we don’t often desire to concur with…it is defined as to stay where one is or delay action until a particular time or until something else happens. We are certainly living in tough times, things that we see and hear daily can often present a dismal picture of the future, often the way appears unclear, and we have no earthly idea what’s next, some, may get discouraged and disheartened by this thought…but when we know who holds the future… the Master of all Heaven and earth, the Great I Am, the Alpha and Omega, the Lord, God Almighty is in total control…then we can faithfully wait on the Lord to see us through!  But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31.

As born-again believers  we walk by faith and not by sight, God orders the steps of all His beloved children and He will give us the strength to persevere and wait on His timing. “Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.” Psalm 27:14.

Franklin D. Roosevelt wrote these words, “When you come to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on.”  This is an admonition to mentally and spiritually stand when you can’t possible do anything else…but you keep standing in the grace of the Lord. The word of Lord penned by the Apostle Paul says it much better! “Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” Ephesians 6:13.

God never promised us clarity in every situation we encounter, but He did promise to love, protect, provide, strengthen and be with us always; and praise God He is faithful and true to His promises-we just need to trust in His unfailing love! “For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.” 2 Corinthians 1:20.

Even though the road gets mighty rough, God’s grace gives us strength to face every tomorrow… 2 Corinthians 12:9 gives these comforting words “And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”

His power and strength exceeds all that we can humanly comprehend; He picks us up from the lowest valley and allows us to soar on wings of eagles, high above the storms of life- so let us run to the foot of the cross to gain the courage to keep holding on to His unchanging hands. Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” 1 Peter 5:7.

My friends… rest in the assurance that whatever you may be encountering today -you can wait on the Lord, He will come through! My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.” Psalm 62:5.

God blessings of peace and protection be with us all!
