When God Says, “It is Well!”
The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.” Psalm 34:15. .
The only answer that truly satisfies the soul is God’s. There is one thing that is certain: His Word is faithful and true. Numbers 23:19 states- “God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? Or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? ”
It is in the quiet space, deep within our souls and in the midst of our troubles, that God’s greatest gifts are given in compensation for our sufferings. That is when we can hear a still voice that says, “It is well.” My friends, when we have done all that we can, we can rest in the peace of knowing that God has us safe in His arms of love. Sickness, depression, loneliness, inadequacies, grief, and financial burdens—and the list can go on—will come to us all at some point in this life. But these assuring words from the Lord give us peace and comfort of heart: “Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.” He is our deliverer!
Our Father of all tender mercies, the Great Shepherd of the sheep, our healer, provider, protector, and lover of our souls, is closer than the very air that we breathe…He is with us, comforting and working things out for our good. “Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.” 2 Corinthians 1:3-4.
Each day is a fresh start. No matter what we face, we made it through yesterday because of God’s grace and mercy, which will continue to sustain us. So, let’s hold on to the hope, comfort, joy, and peace of knowing that He loves us, hears us, and will keep us safe in His arms forever!
“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31.
When peace like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll
Whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say
It is well, it is well, with my soul.
Blessings and peace to you. May God cover us with His tender mercies!
