Words of Healing

Words of Healing

“Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.” Psalm 19:14

There are many times when someone speaks a positive and uplifting word to you, and it changes your entire day. We have all been there at one time or another. In our present worldwide circumstances, many people are stressed, on the edge and more often to send messages of anger and annoyance when someone does the least thing. The news cites numerous accounts of road rage and negative altercations on others, which are usually not known by the aggressor. This obviously should not be the way that we treat one another. God has given us His Word and it teaches us “And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.” Ephesians 4:32.

You catch more flies with honey than vinegar is an old English proverb. The flies represent those things in life that we desire to attract or achieve; the honey represent positive words and actions, and the vinegar is unpleasant ones that we display towards others. The bottom line is that we should treat others with respect and kindness, using encouraging and uplifting words in our daily conversations rather than unkind methods. We should carefully search our hearts and seek to reflect that which is good and edifying to others.

I believe and know by the Word of God that everything starts at the foot of the cross. Each day it behooves us to start with prayer; asking God to guide not just our footsteps, but the things that we contemplate in our minds and speak of others. Kindness goes a long way my parents would say.

As dear children of God, who walk in the light, our lives when constantly filled by the Holy Spirit becomes the (honey) or drawing agent; “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23.

We must constantly check ourselves, praying for the constant filling of the Holy Spirit to give us clean hearts, so that they are pleasing to our Lord and kind to our fellowman. Psalm 19:14 state “Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.”

Today let us aspire to express words of love and peace. Everybody is going through something; we never know when someone is at the breaking point and need a light of hope at the end of the tunnel; it just may come from you!

Carefully watch what you say and seek earnestly to share words that build-up and encourage; that takes active listening with the heart. May we take the time to really address others with care and concern, offering words that heal and not hurt.

If we follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit, He will caution us if we are wrong, as well as give us just what we need to say and do at the right moment. “For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say.” Luke 12:12

Blessings and peace for an enjoyable day!

  1. Praise God.
Words can build someone up, or put them down, so we should always speak words of caring and healing.
God is so good, give him the praise.
And I pray that the words that I speak will help some along the way.
Thanks Sis, you encouraged others that you don’t even know. That’s a thing!😇👍
