There is None Like God!
“To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One.” Isaiah 40:25.
Even little kids understand the concept of equality; proceed to give one three cookies and the others two, they will readily let you know that, “it’s not fair!” the other kid has more than they do, and you need to make it right; and because we are human…there are just times we don’t always get it right-But I am so glad to share that there is absolutely nothing or no one like our Great and Almighty God. Isaiah 40: 25 states “To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One.” There is no failure in God!
When God has so graciously allowed us to live long enough, we can certainly attest to the innumerable trials and tribulations taht we have already overcome…and we able to proclaim that it is God’s grace that had brought us safe thus far- He is our deliverer! “Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.” Psalm 34:19.
That old devil and enemy of our souls chooses for us to succomb to taking the glory and thanks for our favorable accomplishments and opportunities afforded to us through the years; and it is true that many of those “things” gave or even continue to give us a sense of elation and pride; but let us be careful, because absolutely nothing in this life compares to being a child of the most high God…He provides, protects and leads us safely through the firey furnaces of this life- and there is nobody greater -He alone gets all the glory!
The old adage states: “all that glitters is not gold!’ The Apostle Paul wrote of his birthright, educational endeavors and many other accomplishments that he could most certainly boast about; but nothing measured up to him knowing and having the love of Christ “Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,” Philippians 3:8.
The question is-where do we stand today-is there anything that any of us have or will accomplish that compares to the love of Christ in our lives? The enemy of our souls would have us to think so…but his claims are only an illusion…he seeks to snatch the peace, joy, and love of God away from our hearts. Isaiah 40:25 goes on to set the record straight “Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth.”
God created the world and all that is within it; that includes us! He has all power and divine providence over our lives. . . praise be to God, that nothing and no one can thwart His divine will for our lives. Just think for a moment, He alone flung the stars, the moon and the sun in the celestial heavens, and is the One who lives within the heart of every born-again believer – who is it that can whisper to our hearts in times of trouble and indecision that all is well like Jesus…and when He has spoken. . . His sweet peace settles and calms our downcast souls! “I will extol thee, O Lord; for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me.” Psalm 30:1.
So, like the Apostle Paul, let us seek to win Christ, knowing or gaining Him more than anything else that this world can ever offer …there is none like God. He draws us nearer for a closer walk with Him, dwelling within our souls and guiding us safely along this journey called life with peace, joy and His unconditional love. Never forget… God is our provider, protector, deliverer, our all, and all!
