Jesus, Be a Fence Around Me!

Jesus, Be a Fence Around Me!

“Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.” Psalm 34:19.

The book of Job gives us an account of how God is in sovereign control of all things; we are able to see how He orchestrates the affairs of Job and allows Satan to touch everything that he has except his life. Job 1:7 state “And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.” As we continue to understand and seek God for wisdom in reference to spiritual warfare, we must remain vigilant in our awareness of Satan, the true enemy of our souls.

The scripture assures us that “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.” Psalm 34:19. Life is full of mountain peaks and valleys, but God has a perfect plan that is molding us into His image. We must take heart and learn to live one day at a time, trusting God and His faithfulness to lead us in the right direction in all that we do.

So, when we encounter the things that we certainly have no earthly idea how to handle we must adhere to the words in Psalm 121:1 “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.”  and reckon Him to be just as faithful as He has always been.

The present chaotic circumstances going on in our world are all under the sovereign control of God, who knows all about our troubles, and He will lovingly keep us safe in His everlasting arms. “Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;” Psalm 46:2.

Our steadfast faith in God can dispel all our fears. So, rest lovingly in His care and take comfort in the words of the familiar Gospel hymn, Jesus be a fence all around me!

Jesus be a fence all around me everyday

Jesus I want you to protect me as I travel along the way

I know you can (yes Lord)

I know you will (yes Lord)

Fight my battle (yes Lord)

If I just keep still (yes lord)

Lord be a fence all around me everyday

My friends, we can cling to His word, knowing that He will be that proverbial fence all around us. “He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.” Psalm 91:4.

May God bless and keep you all!
