Endurance Through Trials

Endurance Through Trials

“But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.” Job 23:10

There is nowhere that we’ve read that in this life the sun would shine always; the rain falls on the just as well as the unjust. The book of Job gives us an astounding testimony to the divine providence and amazing grace of God in the lives of His children. It is imperative that we keep in mind that we must always watch and pray. The enemy of our souls is waiting to defeat us on every hand. But we are more than conquerors through Jesus Christ our Lord.

God’s grace miraculously works in and through our tribulations so that we can be a witness to His power. Grace makes all the difference; it provides us with strength, peace, and joy to run on and see what the end will be.

There is never time to have a “pity party.” When we think about how good God has been to us and others, we can’t help but give Him the glory. So, we must tell the story of just how good God is!

God allowed Satan to take away everything Job had.  “And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So, Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.” Job 1:12. The enemy of our souls seeks to lead us astray and to destroy those of us who love God.

God has a divine plan and has providence over all things. Nothing and no one can thwart God’s holy plan for our lives. The bible states that Job was an upright man, one who feared God and was very prosperous. God allowed him to endure great afflictions. Even when Job lost his children and everything he owned, he remained steadfast and faithfully waited on God. Job 13:15 state Though he slay meyet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him.”

We may not always understand how God leads us, but we can trust that His way is best for us.  The power of the Holy Ghost comforts, keeps, and sheds light in our hearts, giving us the strength to endure through it all!

So, my friends, will you choose to stand in the power of God and not in the defeatist attitude of the enemy? “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.” 2 Corinthians 4:17. We must hold on like Job, clinging to our faith in God.

Finally, Job 42:12 says, “So the LORD blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she asses.” God gave Job twice as much as he had before; we can’t beat God’s giving, and He will always reward His children for their faithfulness.

May God bless and keep you always!
