“The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.” Psalm 37:23.

The safest place we can be is in the will of God. The road we travel may not always be easy, but when God designs the pathway, it is the best-laid plan for us. My friends, know that God is doing something far greater in our lives than we can imagine. When we pray for Him to order our steps and to be used for His glory, He is faithful and just, providing all that we need. As scripture says, “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.” Psalm 37:23.

Sometimes we find ourselves in tough situations and wonder when God will deliver us. But, can you envision being enslaved and oppressed for seventy years?! Jeremiah 29:10 states: “For thus saith the Lord, That after seventy years be accomplished at Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place.”This was the word of the Lord sent to the children of Israel when they had been taken captives in Babylon; God assured them of deliverance and a return to their homeland, but after seventy years! This timeline was certainly shocking and not what they wanted to hear!

Similarly, just as the Israelites longed for immediate relief, we all desire instant deliverance. While God can deliver us immediately if He wills, He often uses such times to develop our faith and endurance. If we remain patient and trust in Him, He will deliver us at the right time. “Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.” Psalm 27:14.

In times of waiting, remain steadfast in prayer and focus on God’s Word. This will ground us in His promises and help us recognize His blessings. Remember, our lives belong to God; wherever we are, and whatever we experience, is right where He intends us to be. As Ephesians 2:10 says, “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”

Are you being tossed and turned in the rafting boats of life? Take courage; this is only for a season. Everything moves by the power of God. Romans 8:28 reminds us, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” The Lord lovingly orders our steps, and we can rest assured that all that He has promised will come to pass!
