I Am Never Alone!
“(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)” 2 Corinthians 5:7.
There was a young woman who walked home alone each day. A young man desired to walk with her, but she refused each time. Of course, he felt rejected, especially since she walked alone… However, her response to his inquisition about why she had refused was… “I am never alone.” The word of the Lord in 2 Corinthians 5:7 reminds us: “(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)”
This testimony shows unwavering faith: no matter where this young woman walked, she was certain the Lord was with her at every step. Do we also hold fast to the assurance that we are never alone, regardless of life’s changes? Our faith must be anchored in God’s promises, which remain steadfast and true! “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1.
As we walk this journey of life, regardless of the twists and turns we must take, remember the words of the old gospel spiritual: No, never alone…He promised never to leave me alone. Jesus told His disciples—and His words are as true for us now—“and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” Matthew 28:20b.
Every born-again believer can rest assured that our Comforter, the Holy Spirit, lives within our hearts. He keeps us in perfect peace of mind, and even in the darkest places along the way, He carries us safely through. David expressed it with these comforting words to our souls: “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.” Psalm 23:4.
So, whether we are up on a mountain or deep in a valley, let us remember to hold to God’s unchanging hands, for His grace is sufficient! As 2 Corinthians 12:9 reminds us: “And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”
My friends, we walk by faith, not by some whimsical thought or fancy, but by the proven faith of all that God has done in ages past and continues to do in our lives since our conception. I am a living testimony to His amazing grace and keeping power.
So today, as I travel along this journey of life…I am like the young woman; I will cling to the comforting knowledge that “I am never alone!” What about you? To God be the glory, we have come this far by faith, leaning on the Lord!
God’s blessings of peace, strength, and joy be with us all.
