He’s an On-Time God!

He’s an On-Time God!

“And it came to pass, before he had done speaking, that, behold, Rebekah came out, who was born to Bethuel, son of Milcah, the wife of Nahor, Abraham’s brother, with her pitcher upon her shoulder.” Genesis 24:15

When I think of the necessity of being on time, my mind goes to my great-aunt Josephine Copeland. She was an RN for Germantown Hospital for as long as I can remember. Snookie was wonderful, but outright slow; she had absolutely no concept of time. The one time she actually made it to work on time, she slipped up the stairs to the entrance and broke both her legs- so technically, she was still late!

We all have our faults and are subject to falling short at any time, whether in reference to time, talents, or treasures. But I am so glad to be a witness that God is never late-He is always on time! “The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord.” Lamentations 3:25-26.

Let me share another witness for you- in the Book of Genesis chapter twenty-four, we find the account of Abraham’s faithful servant Eliezer. Abraham sent Eliezer to find the bride God had appointed for his only son, Isaac. Eliezer set out on his journey; he stopped at a well in Mesopotamia and knelt to pray for God’s guidance and insight. He specifically asked God to show him the young damsel that would be the bride for Isaac.

The Scripture tells us, “And it came to pass, before he had done speaking, that, behold, Rebekah came out, who was born to Bethuel, son of Milcah, the wife of Nahor, Abraham’s brother, with her pitcher upon her shoulder.” Genesis 24:15. God is amazing and goes beyond our greatest imagination; before Eliezer had even finished speaking or praying …God sent the answer!

Do you have a pressing need on your heart today? God hears the sincere cries of His children. Jeremiah 33:3 states, “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.”

God is faithful to His promises and His mercy extends towards us every day. It does not matter how small or great we feel our need is … He will come through exactly when we need it most. “And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.” Mark 10:27.

Hold on to this truth-when things seem far beyond what we can humanly reach, we can fully rely on God! He knows exactly what we need, and He is faithfully working behind the scenes; in fact, it’s already done!

As you start this new day, cast every care at the foot of the cross… lay aside your worries, anxieties, and fears, remembering that God is never late, but right on time. “And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.” Isaiah 65:24.

May God bless you and give you peace. Remember, He is always on time!
