When Life Hits Hard
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28.
We know through life experiences that trials and tribulations come to us all, and even as beloved children of God, some circumstances hit harder than others. But through the pain and heartache, our hope and peace are anchored in the Lord God Almighty! “Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;” Hebrews 6:13.
These comforting words are found in Psalm 23:1: “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.” Yes, the tears will surely fall, and the road will get mighty rough. But we have this assurance: the Lord God Almighty, that Great Shepherd of the Sheep, our Risen Savior, will provide, protect, and give us all that we need to run this Christian race in victory!
So, during those times that try the soul, let us steal away to that secret place of our hearts, where we can cast all our cares on the Lord. Listen as Jesus calls: “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28. He hears our cries, and He will answer!
My friends, God’s grace is sufficient to keep us in the midst of it all. When things seem unbearable, hold on and trust in His unfailing love and power, resting in the truth that He has the ultimate plan for our lives. Though painful at times, God’s divine purposes are far greater than we can imagine! “But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” 1 Corinthians 2:9.
Just stay focused; remember that we walk by faith, not by sight. If Jesus brought you to it, He will bring you through it!
Jesus brings me here by His will in this straight place; in that will I rejoice.
Even here, He will keep me “in His love” and give me “grace and glory.”
Surely, He will make the trial “a blessing,” teaching me lessons He wants me to learn.
Under the trial, I will be quiet, for in His good time He will bring me out. Just how and when, only He knows best.
So, then I am here by God’s appointment, in His keeping, under His training. For His time. That I may glorify Him and comfort others.
When life hits hard, through our own trials and tribulations, let us hold on to the comforting peace, love, and amazing grace of our Savior as we travel this tedious journey.
Blessings to you all.
