“Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee. Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.” Psalms 63:3-4.

“Because of who you are, I give you glory; because of who you are I give you praise;” these are starting lyrics from the beautiful inspirational song, “Just Because of Who You Are,” written by Vicki Yoke. I just wanted to direct our thoughts on spending time giving our Great and Almighty God continual praise. Let us worship Him just because of who He is …regardless of what is going on in this world, or our present circumstance…He is the Lord God Almighty, the All-Sufficient One!

The Bible teaches us in Psalm 33:1 to: “Rejoice in the LORD, O ye righteous: for praise is comely for the upright.”Comely is a derivative from the Greek word euschémón-it means befitting, attractive, decorous, and even honorable. When we praise, thank, and acknowledge that our Lord is sovereign, we are seen as pleasing in His sight. One songwriter wrote, ” Praise is what I do when I want to get close to you!

Everything will fall into peaceful perspective when centered on our Creator God. He is in total control, and if we believe in our hearts and way down deep in our sanctified souls that He has divine providence, then we have the confidence in knowing that He is ordering our steps for far greater things ahead!

So, let us be still amid our present circumstances, praising Him for who He is. There are many names that we can attribute to our great and awesome God. If you need the victory, He’s our Jehovah Nissi-The LORD who reigns in victory; if you need healing in your body, He’s our Jehovah Rophi, our Almighty Healer; and if you need peace that surpasseth all understanding, He’s our Jehovah Shalom- our Prince of Peace, and my Lord and my God; He’s our Jehovah Jirah- the Lord God our provider! 

My friends, wherever we are and at any time, let’s lift our voices in praise to the only wise God, our Savior now and forever. There is no one greater!

“Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power. Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness .” Psalm 150:1-2.
