The Lord is Our Hope

The Lord is Our Hope

“Blessed [is] the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.” Jeremiah 17:7.

Why does a young mother twenty-seven years old, with a young baby decide to end it all for them both, and so many talented young teenagers who are just beginning to live, murder one another? It is quite heart wrenching…every born-again believer must fervently pray to point those who are lost in this dark world and feel there is no hope, to the only way of hope, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

There are many names attributed to our Great and Almighty God; the prophet Jeremiah state that one of them is “hope.” “Blessed [is] the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.” Jeremiah 17:7.

My friends, God never promised us that this life would be one of ease. Job expressed the plight of man in this earthly existence as such “Man that is born of a woman is of few days and full of trouble.” Job 14:1.

But what He did promise us is His unconditional love through salvation, comfort, hope, peace, provisions, protection, guidance, among many other innumerable spiritual blessings in this life… God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble” Psalm 46:1.

God can more than handle debilitating-illnesses, divorces, financial losses, bereavement, loneliness, discouragement, abuse, rejection, anxiety, or any other heart wrenching deterrent we could possible face. . .  He is omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient! “For with God nothing shall be impossible.” Luke 1:37.

The winds of life will vehemently blow…but the Lord is our hope and all who have come to His fountain of grace are safe in His arms. And for those who have not accepted our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ to come into your heart… today is the day that He is calling for you to run to His everlasting hope; you only need to let go and let Him in, hope thou in God. “Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.”

God is faithful that promised…He will deliver! To all my dear sisters and brothers in Christ…the time is at hand, it is our God given duty to throw out the lifeline of hope to some lost and searching soul.

Throw out the life line across the dark wave;

There is a brother whom someone should save;

Somebody’s brother! o who then will dare

To throw out the life line, his peril to share?

-Edward S, Ufford

God blessings of peace, strength, and courage be with us all.
