God’s Power Displayed!

God’s Power Displayed!

“O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!” Psalm 8:9 (KJV)

As I watched the news and images of the Solar Eclipse on yesterday… my thoughts were centred around just how marvellous and great our God is-His power was on display yesterday….not science! All things move by His omnipotence and divine providence, and in Him I find rest and sweet peace in knowing that the world is held in His all powerful hands!

God is great and greatly to be praised…He is closer than the very air that we breathe. I too with the Psalmist must proclaim to all the world “O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!” Psalm 8:9.

Look around you, His majesty is evident in all creation; we need only to open our eyes to the wondrous handiwork of our Great and Almighty God. When we consider the heavens above; the planets, the stars, and the limitless universe, we can only glimpse a partial view of how great God really is. These same elements, the moon, the stars are all the works of His fingers…and the earth that we live on is only a speck in it all.

“Greatness, power, splendor, glory, and majesty are yours, Lord,
because everything in heaven and on earth is yours.
The kingdom is yours, Lord,
and you are honored as head of all things.” 1 Chronicles 29:11.

This is a humbling thought as I consider the vastness of the heavens and the seas are all made and move by His power; then He considered us and made male and female in His image. How minute and powerless we are compared to these celestial and earthly elements; yet God loves, provides, sustains, and affords us the opportunity to be recipients of His amazing grace through Jesus Christ our Lord.

God is Great, He’s both the Lion and the Lamb- clothed in majesty and relates to us through the Godhead-as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit! Let us rejoice my friends, and honor and the name above all names and worship at His feet… Psalm 103:1 state: “Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.”  Our Great God has all power, and to Him we must give all the glory-“Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2:9-11. HALLELUJAH He’s a Great God!

How Great Thou Art”

O Lord, my God, when I in awesome wonder

Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made

I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder

Thy power throughout the universe displayed

Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee

How great Thou art, how great Thou art

Let us rejoice forever!
