The Bright and Morning Star

The Bright and Morning Star

“I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.” Revelation 22:16
There is a beautiful saying among the Irish people to inspire hope under adverse circumstances: – “Remember,” they say, “that the darkest hour of all. is the hour before day.” We can always trust and depend on the word of God during the darkest periods in our lives; Psalm 30:5 state “For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.”
The best laid plans go awry, unfavorable circumstance pop up out of the blue and those closest to our hearts will let us down at times. But the word of God gives the hope and the peace that we need to run this Christian race day by day. We must check our thoughts, the enemy of our soul desires to make us fret; but the comfort of God’s word will help to point us back in the right direction “Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.” Psalm 42:5.
We are never alone and as the old familiar hymn goes … on Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand. Let us cast all our cares on the Lord and run on to see what the end will be. It is a fact that God has plans for all His beloved children. “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” Jeremiah 29:11.
The children of Israel were in captivity when the prophet Jeremiah wrote those comforting words. They would wait seventy years without deliverance; but God admonished them to build homes, marry, have children, and honor His name. It may have been dark…but the morning star would soon rise!
If you are facing a challenging situation today and do not know which way to turn; God is working behind the scenes for your good. He has never failed, and the best is yet to come! So, hope thou in God. The darkest hour is just before dawn, but the brightest and most unique star of all will rise in the east just before the sun peaks over the horizon!
My friends Jesus is the Bright and Morning Star and He will shine His love within us to dispel the dark and dismal cervices that try and take up resident in our soul. But praise be to God He is the dawn of every new day that we encounter, and He will always make a way out of no way!
“I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.” Revelation 22:16
God’s peace and blessings be with you all.
