Alleluia!

Alleluia!

Alleluia is a Hebrew word, while Hallelujah is a Greek word; and they both mean “praise ye the Lord.”  It is the highest praise given to God and the same in every nation and tongue. Psalm 150:6 admonishes us to “Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.” All creation must burst forth in praise, celebrating and proclaiming His goodness…hallelujah, to the Lord God Almighty, He is omnipotent!

I can still hear the sounds of the church folk singing with robust praise…glory, glory, hallelujah, since I laid my burdens down, burdens down Lord, since I laid my burdens down…I feel better, so much better, since I laid my burdens down-and one of the old mothers would say it like this-we are climbing Jacob’s ladder, since I laid my burdens down!

No matter what is happening in your life, when you are a child of the most high God-when you start praising and singing glory to His name…the Holy Spirit will flood peace, and joy like a river flowing through your very soul- and you can see storms passing over in the spiritual eye that you are unable to even phantom with your natural eye.

My friends, we serve the Great I AM-the One and only true and living God-He is the lover and keeper of our souls, the One who came to earth, was crucified, and got up early on the third day morning-for your sins and mine; that we may have eternal life!

To that let us shout Alleluia-for even the angels in heaven shout forth with praise, and on that night when Christ was born, scripture state– “And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.” Luke 2:13-14.

Alleluia, our hope, peace, and salvation lie in what Christ has done for all men over two thousand years ago; and yet, it was only the beginning of a world without end-eternal peace– “And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.” Revelation 19:6.

God’s peace, and joy to all-Praise ye the Lord!
