Divine Protection

“They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever. As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the LORD is round about his people from henceforth even for ever.” Psalm 125:1-2.

In the midst of all the uncertainties of this present existence, we must have a sure foundation to place our trust. Jesus is the sure foundation that every child of God must stand on and take refuge; He is our ark of safety. Psalm 125:1-2 recalls the divine security that the man of faith has exclusively in God. “They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever. As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the LORD is round about his people from henceforth even for ever.”

There is none other like God…“To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One. Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth.” Isaiah 40: 25-25. The word speaks of His omniscience, His power and His mighty works.

In the minds’ eye of the Psalmist, Mount Zion was symbolic to strength, stability and immoveable; our faith when rooted and grounded in the Lord, will be likewise; “Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.”  Matthew 7:24-25. We are all tested in this life with many trials and tribulations, but the saints of God, through His amazing grace shall not be moved!

Just as the mountains surround Jerusalem, the Lord performs a protective ring around His beloved children. This is what Satan spoke about when he questioned God about Job: Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.” Job 1:10. The divine protection of the Lord is with us forever!

My friends, I just wanted to remind someone out there, that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever more… there is absolutely nothing, debilitating illnesses, mental depressions, financial losses; nothing that can reach the trusting saints of God outside of His permissive will. Trust God in and through all the circumstances of life:

Though the storm is raging, trust God

Though the burden is heavy, trust God

Though the night is dark, trust God

Though the road is rough, trust God

Though the hills seem insurmountable to climb, trust God

He is our source and sustainer forever…He is God, the Great I AM!!
