Fight to Win!

Fight to Win!

“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;” 2 Corinthians 10:4.

I love to watch a good wrestling or boxing fight, as a young child my brother Reginald and I would watch wrestling on Saturday mornings. Jack and Jerry Briscoe were our favorite tag team…they would always win. However, in the course of the fight, Jack or Jerry would get in trouble in the ring, going down for the count; but miraculously they would get close enough to tag hands and switch places, this would give them the advantage to win the fight!

We are in a spiritual fight every day of our lives against Satan and his demonic forces, but every born-again believer has weapons that supersede anything in this world and come from God alone. “(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 2 Corinthians 10:4.

If you know anything about fighting, you know that the fighter has to train for the fight. It is a daily physical and mental transformation, through exercise, diet, and positive interactions; so, it is in our spiritual warfare, the apostle Paul admonishes us in Ephesians 6:10-11 “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”

What does your daily regiment look like-are you ready to win the fight? 1 Peter 5:8 state, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:” Yes, he may be quite a formidable foe, but the good news is we have the victory in Jesus, “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.” Romans 8:32.

Satan’s objective is to make us feel as though we are down for the count and defeated, but our big brother, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, succors us in our weakest moments and He wins the fight. Let us stay watchful, in the word and prayed up… ready to tag out at any moment, for nothing shall ever separate us from His love and protective care!

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39.

God blessings of grace and strength be with us all.
