Forever Faithful
“For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.” Hebrews 2:18.
The sky was dark, and lightning flashed as thunder rolled outside my window. I thought of God’s divine providence in the midst of the storm. He causes the rain to fall and the sun to shine. It is by His power that all things exist – and He is forever faithful to sustain, succor, provide, and protect us through the storms of life! “For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succor them that are tempted.” Hebrews 2:18.
Soon a great calm had replaced the angry roll of thunder and rains. My thoughts at that moment: only the Master of Heaven and earth can say Peace, be still! And all things cease and obey His will! “And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.” Mark 4:39.
My friends, the proverbial storms of life do rage, but think back…can you count how many times Jesus in His tender mercies has brought you out? I don’t know how you answer…but I can’t even begin to count God’s unfailing mercy shown towards me… but what I can tell you is that He is forever faithful; The word of the Lord is our evidence: “I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.” Psalm 37:25. God never fails!
Yes, the road can get mighty rough in this life. The way may seem outright impossible at times– such things as a prognosis of failing health for you or a loved one, grief, mental anguish, loneliness, financial issues, fear, or anxiety-these things can grip the heart, but faith in who God is and His power to do all things dispels fear. The word of the Lord tells us that “For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.” 2 Corinthians 1:20. He is faithful to His promise- if He said it, it is already done!
Know that soon the storm will cease-even the most turbulent conditions must obey when the Lord of Hosts says time out. And this is the best part: He is preparing you for something far greater than your eyes can see- there is always a blessing on the other side of through-so keep the faith, take advantage of your ability to see the victory up ahead through the power of the Holy Ghost! (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) 2 Corinthians 5:7.
Our Heavenly Father cares for us, and He knows all about our troubles; we only need to be still and wait on the Lord. Just like the storm soon passed over, being replaced by calm, peace, and light – God is forever faithful, and He will come through now and forever! “Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.” 1 Thessalonians 5:24.
God’s blessings of peace and love be with you all!
