Keep Looking Up!

Keep Looking Up!

“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.” John 14:1.

A feeling of hopelessness enters the heart, whether from grief of loss or despondency in a dire circumstance. In those times, you literally grasp to hang on, desiring some sense of relief, and suddenly a still small voice whispers… “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.” John 14:1. There is hope in God!

The light shines through the darkness, reminding us that there is hope in God! There is absolutely nowhere that we can find ourselves in life where God is not already there, comforting, holding, leading, and making a way out of no way. Psalm 139:7-10 gives us the assurance that God’s abiding presence is with us at all times: “Whither shall I go from thy spirit? Or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.”

So, my friends, begin this day knowing that whatever you need and all those things that concern you, God will lovingly supply. Even at our weakest moments, and when those things can bring us to our knees, remember these comforting words: “A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory.” Matthew 12:20. That’s a promise!

Yes, tears do fall, but the Great I AM and Comforter of our souls is faithful to wipe away every single tear. “Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness;” Psalm 30:11. Joy will come in the morning—I can hear the voice of the late Rev. Paul Jones singing “I Won’t Complain.”

I had some good days, and I’ve had some hills to climb.

I’ve had some weary days and some sleepless nights.

But when I look around, and I think things over

All of my good days outweigh my bad days.

I won’t complain!

God’s blessings for a wonderful day in the Lord.
