Our Help Comes from the Lord!

Our Help Comes from the Lord!

My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.” Psalm 121:2.

There are things that come against us that shake our very core, but recognizing and acknowledging where all our strength and help come from is more than half the battle in overcoming adversity. “My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.” Psalm 121:2.

It is no secret that those of us who have been saved by the grace of Almighty God face even greater spiritual conflict. The enemy of our souls is constantly strategizing to gain power over our minds, bodies, and souls. Ephesians 6:12 states, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

Let us consider King Asa of Judah in 2 Chronicles. The Bible tells us that he did what was good and right in the eyes of the Lord. We all know that when you’re trying your best to live according to the will of God, the enemy is always setting a trap! Remember the words of 1 Peter 5:8: “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.”

One name, Zerah, and a host of Ethiopians came against King Asa in battle. But praise God, Asa knew exactly where His strength came from! He immediately cried unto the Lord and found Him to be a very present help in the time of trouble! “And Asa cried unto the Lord his God, and said, LORD, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O LORD our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude. O LORD  thou art our God; let not man prevail against thee. So the LORD smote the Ethiopians before Asa, and before Judah, and the Ethiopians fled.” 2 Chronicles 14:11-12. God gave the victory!

My friends, regardless of what we may be facing in this life, in times of trouble and unrest, we too can turn to the Lord. There is comfort in knowing that no matter how big or small the opposition may be, God is sovereign and holds us safe and secure!  “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”

Do you need the source of all our help and strength today? Take action—run to the foot of the cross. Trust that God will answer. He will provide all the help that you need. There is absolutely nothing that Satan and his demonic forces can throw our way to thwart the plans of God. As Romans 8:35 states: “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?”

Absolutely nothings! Therefore, we can weather the storms of this life with confidence in God’s love and power. We are safe, safe I say, in His arms!“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.” Ephesians 6:10.

Take hold of the victory that is yours—stand firm, trust God, and move forward in faith! Remember, the battle has already been fought, and the victory is won…have faith in God!

Blessings and peace to all!
