What Can I Possibly Do?

What Can I Possibly Do?

“And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.” Psalms 50:15.

Even those believed to be the strongest Christians encounter circumstances that simply bogle the mind; surrendering the mind, body, and soul over to a feeling of total helplessness…times when your all alone and you fall to your face and cry out… Lord, what can I possibly do…how do I make it through this, and deep down in your soul, you know, you have no other recourse than to let go and let God have His way, knowing that He will deliver you out of this too– providing all that you need!

My friends, it is in those weakest moments, having feelings of despair, or even hopelessness, that the Holy Spirit comforts and reminds us that God is in full control, and everything will be alright.  No, we don’t always understand or can see clearly when the mountain that lies before us seems impossible to climb-but I am here to tell you that God has a way of turning faith and trust in to our closest companions, allowing us to hold on to His unchanging and all-powerful hands!“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.” Matthew 28:18.

I am reminded of a saying I heard once “Shipwrecked on God and stranded on omnipotence!” what a profound statement. This is my take on it…to be shipwrecked is to have lost the ship to total ruin and suddenly stranded…with no conceivable way to leave the present location- it appears that all hope is gone; but, Lord have mercy… when you are shipwrecked on God, even being secluded or lost to all possible means of human support, His grace is sufficient for all that you need…and you can humbly lie in the safety of His everlasting arms -dependent on the faithfulness of His omnipotent miraculous power to succor and sustain you through it all! “And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.” Psalms 50:15.

Rest in this truth, that where you are and what’s going on in your life is certainly no surprise to God… He has placed you right there for His purposes and your good…there is no safer place to be than in His will. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28.

Remember the words of the old hymn… “must Jesus bear the cross alone, and all the world go free? No…there is a cross for everyone, and there’s a cross for me!” We will face trials and tribulations in this life…but we are overcomers through the finishing work of Jesus! These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33.

So, if you really believe that God is omnipotent and are willing to trust Him wholeheartedly- then hasten to the foot of cross…casting all your cares and at the feet of Jesus-He is closer than the very air that we breathe- and He will take care of you! The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.” Psalm 34:17.

God blessings of peace and amazing grace to you all!
