Praise is What I Do!

Praise is What I Do!

“From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the Lord’s name is to be praised.” Psalm 113:3

Can you say this morning that you will praise the Lord in all that you go through? The scripture tells us “From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the Lord’s name is to be praised.” Psalm 113:3. It is not predicated on whether we need healing in our bodies, or food on our tables… we are admonished to “Rejoice in the Lord, O ye righteous: for praise is comely for the upright.” Psalm 33: 1.

Blessings, honor and glory are all due to our faithful and Almighty God, because He is the Great I AM. All things are possible in Him, and yes, even when our backs are up against the wall…praise is the ointment that soothes our souls!

The old arch-enemy of our souls’ desires to hinder and stop us from giving praise to God…he wants us to focus on the things that seem impossible and hopeless-his objective is whispers thoughts of defeat, discouragement, inadequacies and unrest to steal our joy…but God’s great joy supercedes anything that the enemy can place in our pathway. Never forget, that he is a defeated foe! “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. Romans 8:37.

My friends, those are exactly times when we must lift up holy hands even the more; bowing down to worship our merciful and gracious Heavenly Father, our keeper and the lover of our souls…He is the only One who can deflect the fiery darts of the enemy and restore the joy of our salvation and He is worthy to be praised!

It is true that all things are level at the foot of the cross; every need no matter how great or small are met by the lovingkindness of our Heavenly Father. The rich, poor, educated, uneducated, downcast, or even if you think you have it all together… we all answer to the same eternal and All-Sufficient One, the Lord God Almighty and He is due all our praise!

Hallelujah! God is worthy. Just flip over to the Book of Revelations chapter five and let your heart be lifted as it opens for us an awe-inspiriting scene in Heaven, the angels are praising our Savior, the Lamb of God: “And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands; Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing. Revelation 5:11-12. He is worthy!

When we are praising God we are lifted up beyond the immediate cares of this world and taken into the spiritual realm…our hearts are enlightened and in that very moment we are blessed beyond measure. In the book The Hallelujah Factor; the author states “When we praise, productivity is maximized, fulfillment is realized, and frustration is neutralized” (p. 31). To God be the glory!

Therefore, no matter how I feel or what my circumstances may dictate- as the songwriter wrote: Praise is what I do when I want to get close to you…I will bless you at all times, because I owe it all to you! and David in Psalms expressed it even better! “I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.” Psalms 34:1.

God blessings and peace be to all…let us praise the Lord today and always!
