Spiritual Healing

“Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;” Colossians 1:11

Pandemic is defined as an epidemic of an infectious disease that has spread across a large region, for instance multiple continents or worldwide, affecting a substantial number of people. The Covid-19 virus has affected the lives of all mankind. It has no regards to cultural, economic, or social differences. As human beings we face the same needs when it comes to the things that threaten our very existence. The world is being brought to our knees in prayer, to recognize and seek help from the only source that can eradicate this virus . . .  our sovereign and Almighty God!

Prayer is the answer for the ills of this world; God in His omniscience and omnipotence will provide the relief and cure that is needed according to His divine will. It is important that we also see the mystical or spiritual meaning of our situation as well. God will heal our bodies, but His ultimate objective is to heal our souls and in doing so we must humble ourselves and acknowledge that He is God. John 3:16 teaches us “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ came to give us eternal life and because of His death and resurrection we can become the sons of God, new creatures indwelt by the Holy Spirit that guides and keeps us until the day of redemption.

Therefore, as we pray for the healing of our bodies, our priority must be praying for spiritual healing. Paul prayed for the saints in Colossae “For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Colossians 1:9-12.

When we pray to be filled with the Spirit of God and the knowledge of His will we can deal with the onslaught of physical ills in our lives; why? Because we know who holds our future in His powerful hands. He orders our steps and heals us both physically and spiritually. Our lives when focused on Him can be filled with His peace and joy regardless to our circumstances; His power is what strengthens us to run this race and will keep us through it all…so as we kneel to pray for others and ourselves, let us remember to seek him first for the filling of the Holy Ghost, who will lead us to the understanding of His will and give us the patience to hold on and wait until He comes through!

Take heart my friends, all is not lost! God will come through during this present age in all the physical and mental ills that we may encounter. He has promised that He will never leave nor forsake us…therefore we can face this day and every tomorrow knowing that God will provide, heal, and deliver in due time. So, as James 5:14 admonishes “Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:” Let us continue fervently in prayer for both the physical and spiritual healing that is needed in the lives of our loved ones and all others in this circle of life. God will answer according to His divine will in a great and mighty way. “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.” Ephesians 3:20-21

God blessings and unconditional love keep you in perfect peace!
