Waiting

Waiting

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.“ Isaiah 40:31

Waiting is never easy. As my mom used to say, “A watched pot never boils.” The more we focus on our desires, the longer the wait seems. We cannot control time or hasten the future.

The truth is, we never know what will transpire next. For some, this is an unsettling thought-they are unable to deal with the unknown; failing to realize that we are all dependent on the Giver and Maker of life, who is eternal in the Heavens, and orchestrates all things! “For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:” Colossians 1:16-17.

All of God’s children have the power within to walk this journey of life by faithHebrews 11:1 states, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” We can face every tomorrow knowing that God is sovereign and holds the future in His powerful hands.

Our souls are anchored in the divine providence and unconditional love of Almighty God. Romans 8:28 reminds us, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

David wrote in Psalm 23:1, “The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want.” Having been a mere shepherd boy, he understood his role as a shepherd, one who protects and cares for his sheep. We likewise belong to God, and we are kept under His divine protection and loving care, now and forever.  In John 10:11, Jesus states, “I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.”

What is it that you need today-healing in your body, mind, or soul? God’s got it-He will see you through!

So, this day…this moment, remain steadfast and  wait on God. You are not on this journey alone. Settle it in your heart that regardless of your present circumstances…God is faithful, just, and the God of all comfort. We can rely on God!

“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31

May God bless you with all the peace, grace, and strength that you need to keep going day by day!
