It is Well with My Soul!

It is Well with My Soul!

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Psalm 46:1.

It is quite easy to talk about peace, love, and happiness when life is going great, or when having mountain-top experiences. But way down deep in the valley of trials and tribulations, when things aren’t going so well or really hurt to the core, is just when the loving-kindness and grace of God must take hold and comfort us beyond what we can possibly understand. “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Psalm 46:1.

It is there in the quiet space way down in the depths of our souls, in the midst of all our troubles, that God’s greatest gifts are given in compensation for our sufferings. It is during those times that His love is on its greatest display, and praise God, He teaches us to say, “it is well with my soul.”

God is the Father of all tender mercies, the Great Shepherd of the sheep, our protector, comforter, and lover of our souls. “Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort, Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.” 2 Corinthians 1:3-4.

My friends, hold on to the hope, comfort, and peace that come from God’s eternal love. “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33.

We can walk this life confident in knowing that our Lord, Jesus Christ, is the author and finisher of our faith. In Him we can cast all our cares! “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” 1 Peter 5:7.

Whatever our circumstances may be today, God knows, He loves us, and He is closer than the very air that we breathe. Rest in the comfort of knowing it is well!

When peace like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll
Whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say
It is well, it is well, with my soul

Blessings and peace, may God cover us all with His tender mercies!
