“And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.” Luke 9:23.

A well-known gospel song says: “Live in Me, Jesus, have your way in me, Lord. For I may be the only Jesus that this generation may see.” As born-again believers, are we willing to be sold out to Jesus? Sold out means He is our Audience of One, and we are willing to release our wills and be guided by Him. That means going wherever He leads and not being ashamed to proclaim the Gospel message at any time. Even when we cannot see the way or others oppose our faithfulness, we trust His power to be all that we need to be, living examples of whose we belong and willing to tell this dying world that He loves them. 

It is certainly not easy to let go of all that the world appears to offer. The road we travel as born-again believers is not one of ease, but it leads through the eyes of faith to the glory of our great and almighty God. “And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.” Luke 9:23.

But, my friends, the good news is that God never asked us to do anything alone. Whatever He has called us to do, He will provide all the power that we need to accomplish it! Consider His servant Moses when God called him to go and deliver the children of Israel: “And Moses said unto God, Who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt? And he said, Certainly I will be with thee; and this shall be a token unto thee, that I have sent thee: When thou hast brought forth the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve God upon this mountain.”

Have you been there, like Moses—are you there now, wondering, Lord, how can I do this? In those moments of doubt and fear, we must recall the words of the Lord written by the Apostle Paul that give the answer: “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.” 2 Corinthians 4:7. 

God is intentional. He has entrusted His glorious gospel message and the empowerment of the Holy Ghost to our frail human bodies so that He gets the glory! “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Philippians 4:13.

Remember this: what God promises, He is faithful to provide! “For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.” 2 Corinthians 1:20. There is no failure in God. When we belong to Him, He does it. We just need to be available, as the song said: “Live in me, Jesus, have your way…” I’ll be your legs to walk and mouth to talk!

Let go and let God have His way in your life. The best place to be is right in the center of His will, so follow where He leads
