When God Says, “It is Well!”

When God Says, “It is Well!”

“The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.” Psalm 34:15.

The only answer that truly satisfies the soul is when God says so. There is one sure thing: His word is faithful and true. The word tells us in Numbers 23:19- “God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? ”

It is in the quiet space way down in the depths of our souls, in the midst of all our troubles, that God’s greatest gifts are given in compensation for our sufferings, that is when we can hear a still voice that says…it is well . . . my friends, when we have done all that we can possibly do-we can rest in the peace of knowing that God has us safe in His arms of love. Yes, sickness, depression, loneliness, inadequacies, grief, financial burdens, and the list can go on- will come at some time to us all…but these assuring words from the Lord give us peace and comfort of heart: “Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.”  He is our deliverer!

Our Father of all tender mercies, the Great Shepherd of the sheep, our healer, protector, comforter, and lover of our souls, is closer than the very air that we breathe…He is with us, comforting and working things out for our good.. “Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.” 2 Corinthians 1:3-4.

Everyday is a brand new day – so whatever we may be dealing with, no matter how tough- we made it through yesterday and God’s grace and mercy is what has kept us and will keep us now and forever- so let us hold on to the hope, comfort, joy and peace in knowing that He knows, hears, and holds us safe in His everlasting arms! “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31.

When peace like a river, attendeth my way,

When sorrows like sea billows roll

Whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say

It is well, it is well, with my soul

Blessings and peace, may God cover us all with His tender mercies!
